Kibbe
Kibbe is made from cracked wheat and 100% lean beef; the wheat is crushed down and mixed with the meat to form an elliptical outer shell, inside of which are combined pine nuts, additional ground beef, parsley, onions, and special Mediterranean spices. The cracked wheat used for this dish is made from the purest of whole wheat berries. In fact, this wheat is filled with fiber and has a good amount of nutrition. The beef that we use comes from grass fed cows, which are healthier for you than beef from corn fed cows. This interesting food is not only pleasing to the taste buds, but a really great source of nutrients and vitamins essential to your health.
Pine nuts are high in protein and fat levels and are filled with amino acids. Interestingly enough, pine nuts are nature’s only source of pinoleic acid. This acid stimulates your hormones and can decreases appetite. They contain 3mg of iron per one ounce serving; this iron is a vital component of hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is the oxygen carrying pigment in our blood that gives us energy.
Onions are a great source of fructo-oligosaccharides; they stimulate the growth of healthy bifidobacteria and help stop the growth of harmful bacteria in your colon (This lowers the risk of tumors developing in the colon as well). They also support bone and connective tissue, are anti-inflammatory, and protect against cancer.
