Spanakopita

Spanakopita is one of Tabuleh Cafe’s fabulous appetizers!  This savory blend of spinach, feta cheese, olive oil and vegetarian ghee is housed in a soft and flakey crust. Heated to perfection, it is the perfect starter item to pair with any of our fresh salads, entrees, healthy wraps and fresh juices and smoothies.

Spanakopita is nutritionally dense in lutein and zeaxanthin which are powerful antioxidants.  Both lutein and zeaxanthin are deposited in the macula, the center of the eye’s retina.  The macula’s role is to insure detailed vision.  Maintaining sufficient levels of both important compounds may help prevent macular degeneration.[1]
